CD Manufacture checklist.

Artwork Supplied on Disc:

Whilst Disk-Edits can accept a range of file formats for you CD Booklet artwork, we prefer artwork to be supplied as print ready PDF. Prepress fees may apply to artwork where our specifications have not been adhered to.
Please bring your Artwork disc to Disk-Edits when placing your order.

Barcode:

Disk-Edits can provide a barcode for CDs manufactured by us. You will need to add the Barcode to your artwork and include the text "Manufactured through Disk-Edits". There is a service fee and an agreement form that needs to be completed prior to manufacture commencing. The Barcode will need to be added to your artwork.

Gracenotes:

We are now a Content Partner for The Gracenote Media Recognition Service (GMRS).
As a Gracenote content partner we can upload information about your music CD, so that when the CD is inserted in a computer, the software player application on the computer uses the GMRS to identify your CD. It will then automatically display the correct artist, title, track list, and other information on screen. Small service fee applies.

Artwork Proof for paper parts:

A high quality proof will be supplied for your approval prior to commencement of manufacture.

CD label Films:

Printing on the CD is actually a screen printing process directly onto the the disc itself, not a label that is stuck on. For this process we require print ready films.
We will take care of these for you.

As an Approved Service Centre for Technicolor, Disk-Edits requires proof of copyright ownership or approval from the copyright owner to manufacture. This includes all recordings, music, lyrics, samples, software, etc.

For an information sheet, to visit the CDSA website, or just to download a copy of the "Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Form" click here. You will need to print out and fill in the IPR Form. If you are using licensed software or non-original material, proof of permission for use is required to accompany your IPR form. Your order cannot be started until this process is completed.

AMCOS can take up to 8 weeks for approvals, so make sure that you consider this early in your project. Click here to visit the AMCOS Web Site. Please bring this completed form and copies of your permissions to Disk-Edits when placing your order.

Booking your CD launch:

Although we do our best to ensure an efficient and professional service, there may be unavoidable delays. We therefore recommend that you wait until you have your CDs or DVDs manufactured before booking your launch function.
This has the added advantage to allow you to give media outlets time to review and feature your CD and DVD before your release and launch.
